September 2022	Product launch	The laborious operation of loading and unloading parts into machines has long been a staple application for cobots widely used in the industry. The new UR20 from Universal Robots significantly increases automation options by allowing users to reach deeper within machines, operate several machines simultaneously, and handle 25% heavier parts. It has a 1,750 mm (68.9 in) reach and a 20kg payload (44.1 lbs) capacity. The UR20 is UR's heaviest robot, but it is also the lightest cobot in its class, weighing only 64 kg (141.1 lbs), making it both a technical tool and a manual laborer.
May 2021	Product launch	Universal Robots enhanced the best-selling robot UR10e with a 25% increased payload. This has enabled the robot to serve more applications and handle heavier items with improved overall capacity. These are used for applications such as palletizing, machine tending, and packaging.
September 2019	Expansion	Universal Robots announced the expansion of its UR16e for collaboration robot solutions, adding a 16kg payload capability for manufacturers to accelerate automation. The robot combines the high payload with a reach of 900 mm and offers a reliability of +/-0.05mm. This has made it suitable for automation tasks such as heavy-duty material handling, heavy-part handling, and machine tending.
May 2019	Partnership	Sepro Group and Universal Robots announced the COBOT (Collaborative Robot) partnership in which Sepro Group integrates its Visual Control System (VCS) with Cobots supplied by Universal Robots. The Visual Control Platform was developed by Sepro, especially for robots used in plastics injection-molding machines.
February 2019	Partnership	Universal Robots A/S partnered with Bharat Fritz Werner (BFW), India’s largest machine tool manufacturer, to enhance the Universal Robots’ productivity in the Micro, Small, Medium Enterprise (MSME) segment by integrating collaborative robots in manufacturing processes.
