For over six decades, the company has been playing a significant role in the development of specialty chemicals and performance materials segment. It has a current production capacity of 6,03,000 MT per annum and generates 98 MW per hour of green power. It has four manufacturing plants at Durgapur (West Bengal), Mundra (Gujarat), Palej (Gujarat), and Kochi (Kerala). Also, the company has set up R&D facilities at Palej (Gujarat) and Ghislenghien (Belgium). It has a strong global presence with a significant customer base in more than 45 countries across Asia-Pacific, Europe, the Middle East, America, and Africa.
Strategy
Phillips Carbon Black Limited on capacity expansion and technological innovation to fulfill the growing demand for carbon black. The company has invested around INR 1,400 crore over the expansion of green and brownfield projects and increased its carbon black manufacturing capacity to 7,90,000 MTPA, and green power is expected to be around 122 MW. The rise in industrialization in emerging economies, older vehicle scrappages policy, and growing consumption driven by the middle-class population in India gives wider opportunities for growth of the carbon black market. The company is continuously investing to increase the manufacturing capacity of carbon black to meet growing demand. Also, the company is following six strategic drivers to ramp up productivity, enhancing customer centricity, portfolio expansion, leveraging digital technology, and focusing on technological development while keeping ESG priorities at the core of its operations to boost up a market during the coming financial year.
