Company Working:
Cobham PLC (Cobham) provides a range of technologies and services to the commercial, defense, aerospace, space, and security industries in the UK and internationally. It operates through four business segments—communications and connectivity, mission systems, advanced electronic solutions, and aviation services. Through its communications and connectivity segment, it offers equipment and solutions for the aerospace, avionics, radio, antenna, wireless, satellite, and mobile connectivity markets. Through the mission systems segment, it provides safety and survival systems for extreme environments; aerial refueling systems; and mission systems for jets, transport aircraft, and rotorcraft. Its advanced electronic solutions segment offers critical solutions for communication on land, at sea, in the air, and in space through off-the-shelf and customized products, such as radio frequency, microwave, microelectronics, antenna subsystems, and motion control solutions. The aviation services segment delivers outsourced aviation services for military and commercial customers through military training, special mission flights, outsourced commercial aviation, and aircraft engineering services.
Strategy
Cobham is focused on extending its military computers product line for aircraft and expanding its business to additional clients, especially in Asia. As the company has a large customer base, along with a strong sales and supply chain network, the provision of innovative systems to the military and defense industry would result in increased revenue and a larger share of the global market. Moreover, it is focusing on achieving a 12%–14% of operating margin, a 90% operating cash conversion, and more than 90% on-time delivery performance.
