Company Working: Qatar Fertiliser Company (QAFCO) is a joint venture between Industries Qatar (IQ) and Yara Netherland, with 75% and 25% shares, respectively. It is one of the major producers and exporters of ammonia and urea in the global market. The QAFCO complex comprises six completely integrated units for production of ammonia and urea; QAFCO-1 (1973), QAFCO-2 (1979), QAFCO-3 (1997), QAFCO-4 (2004), QAFCO-5 (2011), and QAFCO-6 (2012). In 2019, it produced 3.7 million metric tonnes and 5.77 million metric tonnes of ammonia and urea, respectively. It has 2 subsidiaries, Gulf Formaldehyde Company and Qatar Melamine Company.
