Company Working: National Aluminum Company Limited (NALCO) is a Navratna central public sector enterprise (CPSE) under the Indian Ministry of Mines. The company has the largest integrated bauxite-alumina-aluminum complex India. NALCO is the lowest cost producer of metallurgical alumina in the country and accounted for over 43% of aluminum exports in 2017-2018. It has a bauxite mine output of 7.2 million tons and alumina refinery with an annual capacity of 221 million tons per annum in the financial year 2018-2019.

NALCO focuses on research & development to achieve long term growth and gain a competitive edge over its peers in the market. As of May 2019, the company has filed 36 patents, of which 17 patents have been granted, and six have been commercialized. The company also focuses on projects aligned with flagship government programs and emphasizes on generating maximum revenue from domestic markets.
